COLLET BLOCK

Anyone use Collet Block's for Milling? All I can find are 5c blocks.

I have a square and a hex 5C collet block. They do quite nicely for me. I use the square one for drilling lube holes in Star size dies.

So Brad, you must have a set of 5c as well as R8 for the mill, right?

 

[Brad]

I have ONE 5C collet right now, 3/4” for the Star dies. In time I will get more. I tend to be cheap as hell with that kind of thing.

I have a reasonably complete set of R8 for the mill. I use the 3/8 and 3/4 the most by far.

I need to give my rotary table a go soon. Maybe this weekend, I have a project that could make use of it.

Another rookie question: what vise you using on the mill?
