get ya an old saw blade for that hot plate.
Yea I’ve got to get a piece of steel out of my scrap pile and build me a little mold oven. Wind was working against me tonight. And I wasn’t in a big hurry either. Managed to throw some good boolits though. All of them are good and sharp. Only mistake I made I broke the sprue to fast a few times and tore a divot out of the base on a few of the 7mm. Otherwise it was a relaxing productive evening.

I use a square piece of aluminum plate about 3/8" thick. Picked it up at a metals supplier out of their scrap bin for about a buck. The aluminum distributes heat better than steel.

I did some casting outside, yesterday afternoon. Light winds with a high of 60 degrees.............tis the season.

BTW, I used the panini grill to preheat the mould. Worked great. Thumbs up emoji.jpg

Every so often, I would go inside to check the scores of the NCAA basketball tournament games. Put the four cavity brass mould in the grill, while I was gone. Mould stayed up to casting temperature. happy dance.jpg
