Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Looks pretty, bet the farmer thinks it's prettier in the bale.

Ben, my wife and I were headed back to visit her home near Rhine, Georgia last week and as we passed field after field of cotton and peanuts, we both commented on how beautiful the cotton blooms were this year. Mix that in with the smell of fresh turned peanuts and you know you are in the true south.

Galveston was built for cotton export. The Strand there has all the old buildings. One heck of a useful crop and I wear nothing but 100% cotton as I ain't out to impress wearing anything else. I am sure glad they still make clothes from cotton.

Yes, Chandler, cotton and wool for me. You may not need the wool, but I sure do when the temperatures -10 and the snow blowing!

Ok, how'd Chandler's avatar become Ben's cotton field pic?

This has happened before on other threads.

No, Chandler, I wouldn't razz you like that, the image was really switched. It happens sometimes and I've commented on it before, maybe it's a glitch in the Android software on my fone.

Ian, I took no offense but I have never heard of something like that happening so naturally, my mind went to a funny. At my age, I get it about no hair or white hair and none of that bothers me.

+1 on the wool. I just WISH it colder more here in N AL so I could wear it more. I love it. Same goes for my vintage Sheepskin Bomber jacket! IT is awesome! I get to wear it about 5-6 days a year! Last year was cold enouh I got about 2-3 weeks total out of it. Wore in 20 deg weather for about 12-14 hrs last year (there is DEF a Paul Harvey "rest of the story" to THAT one!)

One time (on my laptop puter, not the fone) I was trying to post a photo of Mila from one of the Resident Evil movies and it kept getting changed to a Terri Nunn photo that had been posted previously (yeah, it was probaly in the middle of someone's casting thread or something, it happens:p). I thought Brad was editing my post and swapping the picture attachment to mess with my feeble, Luddite mind. After I fixed it fhree times I noticed no note about mod editing it last, so I knew it was a glitch. The next day it was back to normal, no idea what happened.

Coming up through Ark last year when they were about done harvesting the cotton.
The sides of the road had "snowballs" along it, pretty much everywhere. Amazing.

I had to stop and pick one up. Looks like about 25 cotton balls stuck together, but
with some grass and fine sticks, unfortunately. Just a neat souvenir. I was thinking
of how to get the debris out....but then what would I have? Just some balls of cotton,
and not much to really do with it.

But it is neat, still.

Yep! Why I call it the REAL Southern Snow! It is cooler than cool! And a natural fiber. Love it, and truly amazing!
