This is a super accurate 30-06 rifle.
I've never fired a jacketed round out of it. ( and may never )
I think after my grandson graduates from .22 LR, this may be the next step.

Here is the rifle at 50 yards , 5 shots, 6.5 grs. of B'Eye and my little 93 gr. Tumble lube bullet sized .311 ". The lube was Ben's Red with a single coat of BLL.

You have certainly proved the h&r and cva break bbls. can shoot.
Was that group shot with the sight on the gun in the pic?

Regardless of that; that is one accurate rifle. I like the looks of the stocks on the cva better than h&r too.

Ben, I have been very tempted to buy those in several calibers. How are the triggers on those? My single shots in the past have been strong and raspy. Can they be worked on if they are too heavy?

Buddy,

No, I put the sight on yesterday.
I shot the group you see with a Leupold Vari-X II 1X-4X variable several months ago. 5 rounds @ 50 yards off the bench.

Thanks,
Ben

Chris,

This trigger is clean and breaks nicely at 3.5 pounds.
Not exactly a match trigger, but then again....it isn't a match rifle.
Can they be worked on ?........ I have no idea.

By the way, CVA does not make the rifle , like mine above, now in 30-06 .
They do make the rifle in .308 Win.

Those triggers can be made better. I've done one of ours. They aren't bad & I haven't touched the others. It might be worth it if you was to try for 700+yds. I like the rifles, but the sight i had like that got smooshed on purpose.

Ben, a 3.5 lb trigger on a long gun doesn't sound too bad and obviously you can get them to shoot well. That's one of the questions I've always had as all the breakopens I've used had shotgun triggers that must have had pull weights in double digits and as noted by another raspy and rough. Okay on a shotgun but not good for pinpoint accuracy.

As may end up with mine ?????????????

I have an older Aimpoint , it is super dependable.
I had to return my Vari X II to Leupold for maintenance 2 days ago.
Nothing wrong with putting the Leupold back on the rifle when I get it back in a few days.
If the sight above in the photos gives problems, it will end up just like yours.

I think I asked before, but CRS
is the mold a standard LEE, or is it a group buy, LEE only shows that mold as a 2 cavity

I bought the mould used. As a result, I'm not certain where or how the original owner came by the mould ? ?

You're right, I checked the Lee web site, the mould is made today in a 2 cavity only.

I think one of these little rifles in .308 would be right down my alley. Especially since my mauser doesn't like to chambeer one of my favorite bullets from the mag....NOE version of the Saeco 315.
That's one thing about single shots....no feeding problems lol!!
