At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
My problem with food is I eat prefer the "comfort foods". I want to eat until I'm full and I want the stuff that just packs on the lbs. The comfort foods aren't candy, ice cream and cake for me. It's breads/pasta/potatoes and the great weight gainers- oatmeal raisin cookies and any fruit pie. Oh yeah, and peanut butter and jam. I eat that stuff and balloon up like a tick. I can actually tell now when I gain water weight just by how my ankles feel! I'm down around 188 now or at least I was last week, but I've been up to 260-265, maybe more. It's without doubt the very best thing I ever did, losing the weight. No more BP meds and most importantly, no more arthritis pain! Never felt anything in the way of pain like that and don't want to again. Yeah, everything still hurts all the time but that's just the normal wear an tear of near 63 years.

Haven't had a beer or any alcohol in over 15 years now, and I don't miss it a bit. Another good decision.

(173#) + (52 yrs) = 225#

Staying around 200#............ so I guess I'm underweight by the formula. Not a chance.

BMI, says I should be 180 pounds. Never going to happen. I enjoy food, too much, as well as alcohol.

My weight trajectory shows a negative correlation to that formula. 260lbs in HS 50 years ago vs 195 today. And that's with a metal leg on. -1.3 lb/yr!

Muscle mass plays a role for sure. Graduated HS at 190. When I was a field engr and working crazy hours and still working out, I got down to 165 without trying. No body fat. Could not float. Sunk like a stone. Now at 70, I was 188 this morning. But I am also 2 inches shorter. Float really well again.

That's great news, Brian!

Sorry I've not been more attentive on this topic. I get behind when school starts, but you've both been on my mind.

You'll both be better able to keep an eye on each other at home. I bet she's happy to be heading in that direction!
