CZ70, 32ACP with no throat...

I have a wonderful CZ70, no import marks... looks good and feels good. Shoots great with a very limited selection of bullets. :(

This gun has a CIP chamber with zero lead into the rifling. So, shooting FMJ or a modified Lee 100-R2 are about my only options. The Lyman 32acp bullet has a bore diameter front band and will feed but cannot be hand ejected once chambered, common problem with most cast bullet choices since there is normally a segment of bore diameter bullet in front of the case mouth. BTW, it will feed the NOE full wadcutter hollow point at 84 grains, but the nose diameter is reduced. Seating most short enough to hand eject will and does cause it to rimlock with some frequency. The FMJ's and the modified Lee cast work fine, but the last bullet in each pic will not work. The milling on the Lee mould finally caused it to strip the sprue plate screw as there was not enough metal left to install a lock set screw. So, now I am down to the Lee's I had cast and FMJ. The last pic is the NOE in the Kel-tec P32 works great in that gun, minor nose damage but fully functional in the CZ.

I am cheap... I just can't stomach buying a 100-175 dollar reamer for 10 twists in the barrel, I can't find a gunsmith with the reamer and the one person I know from another forum does not have the right reamer.

So... I am looking for a place to rent a reamer or somewhere to send the barrel to that has a reamer. I would really like to make this gun more cast friendly.

That wadcutter bullet portion visible in the pic looks a lot like the nose portion on my Lyman #313492 wadcutter castings.

Both the 32 ACP and the 380 ACP would benefit GREATLY from a truncated-cone bullet design that follows the Lee truncated-cone autopistol bullet format--nose length calculated to create a .975"-.980" cartridge OAL and have about .020" of front drive band exposed. Sounds like a job for Mountain Molds and the site's "design-your-own" software.

Ok, so yes I am looking for a throating reamer. I have never done this job before, what all do I have to have for it?

The nose should look like the 313492! That is the pattern that NOE used for that bullet. I could not find the Lyman and when I did it was 2/3rds or more of the cost of the NOE with HP options. It was purchased to use in my old Smith 32 H&R but... I was having a cold one looking at the 84 grain HP that it dropped and it dawned on me to try them in the ACP. Low and behold... it worked. Very accurate as well. I had been wanting something with a wide nose that would feed in the little Kel-tec and did not weigh 100 grains.

Easiest thing to do is make a pound cast of your chamber. Send it to Tom at Accurate molds and have him cut a mold to fit your gun.
Accurate 31-087B with the diameter adjusted to your barrel and specifying NOSE TOLERANCE NEGATIVE should fit. Use 2 grains of Bullseye or TiteGroup at minimum OAL 0.945"
