I have shot a few deer with cast bullets, this was the first.
Marlin 1894 CB in 45 Colt. Load was a 265 wfngc from a Ballisticast mould over 25 gr or so of H110. It shot like nothing else in this gun.

See Ian, it is warm for deer season even this far north. Sometime it is way too hot.

I'd almost swear that was Texas by the juniper trees and grass/weeds. It sort of sucks when it's so warm you can't just hang the deer in a shed for a few days to let it age.

That was taken in Harrison county Missouri. My parents own 120 aces there. Shot a fair number of deer and turkeys there.

You always look so serious in your trophy pics. Cheer up, you won!

I tend to look like that much of the time. I'm not a smiley photo kind of guy. My wife prefers it that way, my smile tends to make me look like the Grinch. Others tell me to smile, my wife and daughter say no, it just means I am up to no good. I'm very good at no good.

After looking at Brad's hunting pictures I can tell you that is his smile. You should see him when he isn't smiling.

Oh, when I'm not happy it is quite apparent. Ask my staff at work!
You should have heard what I yelled at the deer I shot this year as it ran towards a 15 foot deep ravine.

It probably wanted to know why someone was shooting him when all he wanted was a little sweet lovin......

Nice deer Brad.

I'm told my smile is serious, mischievous, or intimidating often. I guess it's a gift, pretty women like it.

I was too late on the trigger. But this guy fell to my buddy's .300 mag. No cast bullets , but a very nice mule deer. image.jpg
