Cherokee,
Man you really made a mess of those targets! got me jealous ! Great shooting indeed!
Some day I hope to get even close with my 1911. I haven't shot it enough to get comfortable with it. I only had it for 5 years!

All the auto pistols I shoot are hamerless! That hammer sort of puts a hex on me..... The cock & lock etc
Just never got friendly to the ways of the 1911! Think I need a teacher.
I love my pistol & it is accurate but I'm unsure using it

I love my 1911. Would mind another. Lots of good choices out there. Some of the Springfields are really nice. I bought my 20 twenty years ago and will not pay what they want for them nowadays.

I have YEARS of accumulated coffee cans performing yeoman work as cast bullet and ammo storage media. A few years ago I started moving the loaded ammo into 50-round plastic boxes, and cutting back considerably on quantities of brass and loaded ammo. More a storage space matter than anything else. I have coffee cans of great age, and some Enfamil metal cans whose contents were used to feed my daughter Amanda--who turned 36 yesterday. Hoarder alert.......

I try to tell my wife I'm a pack rat.
She says, "Pack rats occasional leave something when they pick something else up, you don't!"

Put a couple hundred rnds through th XDm 40 yesterday after rifle. SD drill, pick up one hand point & shoot. Both hands. Needless to say, target has a bunch of non-center hits - but all on paper. Actually the sight is clearer with the fixed eye (other one gets done Mon) but still a slight double. Curious, seeing a spark on ejection haven't seen before. Everything looks OK, brass is fine. Any ideas?

I see sparks when my XDm's and 1911's cycle for ejection with some powders, not with others. Normal I think, things are still going on when that slide start to retrace.

HP38 or W231? Weak spring? ~5k through it. Did shoot some Xtreme plated with cfe pistol a while back but don't recall seeing any, prolly wasn't paying any attention..

I will see it in 38 Super Comp as well with 231. Don't recall on heavier loads as I usually shoot those outdoors. My guns get a new spring every 5k rounds or so.
