..that you can install the drum backwards in a Redding powder measure  ?

I didn't, until about an hour ago.

I've had that measure for about 30 years. Works perfect. (so of course I needed to make it not work perfect). The other day it was looking a little grungy. I had a few minutes so I started thinking (that is was clearly where I made the first error) that I'll just take it apart and clean it.
I cleaned it up and marveled at how close the fit is after all of these years. I reassembled it and put it back in the storage mount on the wall. Didn't give it a second thought.

I attempted to use it tonight and it was all screwed up. It wouldn't drop all of the powder in the drum at once. I had somehow managed to get the drum back in in some incorrect orientation. I had to repair what I had fixed. It's back together now and working like it did before yours truly decided it needed service.

I bet we all have been there at some point. Amazing that we feel a need to put something together incorrectly just to prove that there is ONE right way.

Hopefully nothing was damaged, that always makes it worse

Yea, but have you ever tried to buy half-checks?
