Electric Wax Warmer

Ok, I was in the Dollar General store getting storage tubs (I battle clutter!) And in the isle where they have candles and stuff the ladies dig, I saw this ceramic device that plugs into the wall (110volt AC) with a flat 3 1/2" dia. Base with a tapered flat based bowl that flairs out atop it to hold hot wax fragrence blocks for melting. The bowl is about 1 1/4" deep. I took one look at this and thought "This could be perfect for my dipping of cast bullets into hot wax!" At $8 I figured whadda ya got to loose? I know, 8 bucks, but hey, if it does like suspect it will, I can drop chunks of my goofy 2 component lube that I'm currently using in old tin cans from the old Gen Foods international coffee before they switched to plastic. The device is built to accept Mason jar size wax jars and it would be a good lube warmer for heating up prior to pouring into lube/sizers or for pan lubeing.

Now I just gotta try it and see if this "discovery" works... If not, well I can always use a coffee cup warmer.... And no, I have no pictures. I have only a semi smartphone and I'm as dense as granite when it comes to technology. I attempted to do pics a few days ago and nearly threw the phone across the room into a wall. So I have no pics....

The small candle warmers that look just like a mug warmer but aren't (higher heat) work great for melting most lubes that don't contain a metal soap ingredient. It may take a few hours, but it won't burn the lube.

:oops::D:cool:
That's OK. I wouldn't know a metal soap if it jumped up and bit me on the hip pocket! So I guess I'm safe?

Took some substantial size chunks of my oddball beeswax and pastewax mix and dropped 'em into the flaired ceramic bowl supplied with the wax warmer. After being switched on it took right at 18 min to melt the wax blend. Now it takes about 10 min heating the small rectangular instant coffee tin in a pot of water on the stove. The beauty of this device is that it's already on my bench (no carrying hot wax in a tin can with channel locks from the stove). And unlike the tin can, the wax doesn't cool while I'm dipping my bullets.

So for me and my own particular use of dipping base first into the hot wax lube this wax $8 well spent. It is of a size that it takes up a small amount of area on the bench. For me that's a blessing as my place is cramped enough as it is. And the flaired ceramic pot allows easy access to the wax for holding the bullet where as with the tin container I had to use caution to avoid the sides. Yeah, for me, it works just fine.

I use a candle warmer also , best lube tool I've bought . I have 3-4 now from yard sales, dive weights and candle warmers $5 for the whole box.
