I got what I think is a pretty good deal on this one.
It didn't have the scope when I bought it.
Bore is pristine.
Very good trigger.
I currently have a KT-15 Weaver Target scope on the rifle right now. That will give me a real clear look at the target for the 1st few hundred rounds while I'm looking for " THE LOAD " . Prior to hunting season, this target scope will come off and be replaced with a good " hunting scope ".

By the way........that's a 28" barrel on the rifle.

Good deal. Maybe a suitable candidate for the Encore. I have a soft spot for single shots, make you pick your shot.

The Encore has a reputation for being an accurate platform.

And really Ben, another 06? You must have a dozen by now.

I love the flex-tech stock. I have that same stock on my 35 whelen encore, and can shoot that rifle comfortably from the bench all day.

One thing i found with mine though is the forend was very picky about how it was placed on the front bag at the bench for best grouping.
Mine worked out to be the last "rib"just in front of the reciever placed at the back of the front rest.
A bit of experimenting with that and i bet you'll have a bug-holeing 06.

I hold my encore and mauser with the same esteem, but....if i had to choose only one rifle, i think i'd take a deep breath and keep the encore.

Thanks Buddy,

That is very encouraging. That forend trick will help save me some time also.
