Estate Sale Components

Yesterday I learned of an estate sale being held by the mother of a guy I worked with. I was surprised to learn that he had no interest in the material, he was a SWAT partner and a good shot--but he doesn't reload. Such things are flabbergasting, but there it is. Mostly jacketed bullets in rifle sizes/diameters, commercial green and red boxes predominated, about 3000 all told. Some used die sets, and some high-end cleaning rods. She asked $500, and I thought that was fair. The stuff is in showroom shape.

Also included was close to 3000 cast bullets, very neatly sized and lubed Lyman Devastator 44 caliber hollowpoints. I am in the 44 Magnum business fo' sho'! Most of the tools and all of the moulds were gone, and someone already spoke for the loaded ammo (which wanted no part of).

It turned out that she and I worked together as well, during the time I was at Moreno Valley Station (AKA "The Death Star"). Nice lady, She mostly wanted her husband's toys to go to someone who would use the material and tools, and i most certainly will do so. Buckshot might get the 35 caliber rifle bullets and some 35 Remington brass, and a 303 British-flavor RCBS FL die set will go to my buddy in Simi Valley. The rest of it fits something I own, so it will stay.

Nice find!
Yes, I think so. The few tools were all of good maker and very well-kept. The cast bullets are PERFECT. My Redhawk and Bisley Hunter are going to be busy. I haven't mic'ed them yet for size. The HP on these is CAVERNOUS.

Good cleaning rods can be 30-50 bucks each. Jacketed bullets are 20-30 per hundred.
You both did well.
