Just curious what ya’ll fall back on as a favorite. I’m a 35 caliber nut...

I liked my LEE 190 WFN, BUT RECENTLY borrowed a 190RD and it’s better. Then I bought a NOE 360-232 in plain base and this one is great! I shoot it in the maxi (and legend) in the 356 & 358! Haven’t tried it in the Whelen. But I filling a long time want when I bought a 358 Norma Magnum. This Bullet has shot well there too.

Late last month I ordered a similar 270g from Accurate. Specifically for use in the NM.

What’s your favorite and what do you use it in?

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
I have several pistol bullet moulds, but I didn't look any further than the RCBS 35 200 fn for my 35 Whelen. Works well.

357 rifles is a custom Mountain Molds 200 grain RNFP that will bend around the Martini Cadet action. Seating will work in Marlins also. Very happy with it for light loads. 35 Whelen and 358 Norma I like the SAECO #352 250 grainer for accuracy, the old Lyman 359008 for game.

Lee C358-200RF, as good or better than the venerable RCBS 200FN in my .35 Remington 336. For more wallup the BRP 35-220 HP is nice and shoots really well.

I have a NOE 360-280. Its a copy of the Lyman 359008. But I powdercoat and being this is a bore rider. The added thickness causes issues.

I just received a NOE nose sizer. Im hoping it solves the issues.

The Ly358627 is so versatile for a heavier bullet. [215 gr listed]. I am amazed at the Lee 148 gr tl wadcutter. Read some of Ed Harris's writings and got back into shooting wadcutters tumbles with BLL. Fast and easy to size and load. I have had a copy of an old Lee Group Buy for a copy of Veral's 185 fn that is a great hunting bullet in 38. 357 Mag and Max. I plain based 3 cavities sometime in the early 2000's and they shoot almost as well. If you move to rifles I can't imagine being with out the RCBS 200. Lee makes a copy, I don't own one but don't generally care for their lube grooves. I just like a deeper groove. The Lee 125 is a great plinker out of a lever 357. Ly 358477, it is hard to find a 38 special that it won't shoot in. The Ranch Dogs, 175 and 195 are good in 357 and 35 Remington rifles respectively. I bought a 35 Remington 336 this summer at the Winemucca shoot and it had a bunch of the RCBS 250 gr loaded. The mold is hard to fins but it shot amazingly. The Saeco 352 @ 245 gr comes close but it is just behind.I once believed all you really needed was Elmers 358429 and it is a good one if it feeds in what you own.
Have I spent all your money yet?

Thanks Jon,

I actually already have most of the molds that you have mentioned! Lymans 627 is a long time favorite as is the 429. I dont have the 477 but I also have a few wad cutter molds.

I have read about that saeco /45 and never seen the RCBS-35-250. But as i mentioned I have the NOe 360-232. This is a RD styled plain base bullet thats working well for me.

Thank uou so much the information!!

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
In rifles, 35 Rem loves what I think is a discontinued Lee 35-180FN design. Might be a GB, but I'm pretty sure Buckshot turned me onto this one 15-18 years back. 35 Whelen likes the RCBS 35-200FN. I have a GB 358009 copy but haven't done much with it. I also have a mess of others like the 358627, but there's no time.

In handguns, nothing beats the 358156 for sheer reliabilty. It shoots good in everything I've ever tired it it. The 358447 (477?), an H+G 50 (10 cav!) and a couple I forget the numbers on also get used. I have probably 12 or 15 other moulds in the locker too that just don't get used as much as they should. These days none of them get used as much as they should!

I use Accurate 36-245D in the .35/.30-30, mostly with 9 grains of Bullseye no fill needed, approximates .38-55 at 1300 fps. For a heavier 1700-1800 fps hunting load it also shoots well with 30 grains of IMR3031, 4895, 4064, RL15 or Varget with a 1 grain Dacron fill inserted loosely into the case neck and a pea-sized dab of white lithium grease on top of the fill before seating the bullet. Clean shoting, no leading with 1:30 tin-lead from Roto Metals. Base band is wide enough that Tom can cut a gascheck heel .090" high at the same OAL, if you prefer, but I've found no need for one. If a .090" GC heel were added to the base, increasing the bullet OAL by that amount the bullet would probably weigh about 275 grains.11088

Plain base, round nose, round lube groove. An old 4-C iron mold I got from a fellow in Idaho years ago. It had been abused and he cleaned it up.
Shoots in everything from 38S&W to 350RM. Drops at about .360+ from my alloy. It was used to fire form 35 Whelan for three different rifles. One buddy liked it so much he flattened the nose and shot a couple of deer with it.

@Outpost75 ; the dacron/grease- concept is very interesting. Seems like you approximate GC performance with a BB bullet with soft alloy...... Now, I have one more thing that needs testing :)

Looking again.

I still dont have a 250g bullet.

I am enjoying the Accurate 270!! The NOE 230 is also great. I have picked up quite a few molds and have most popular versions.

I probably should but a Copy, but I am watching for a Saeco or RCBS.

Should have my 200g NOE today. Bought mostly to get a HP in that weight. Last month I got a 358430 and its a nice mold. IMHO better as a HP. But I know not all agree.
