Good morning and Welcome!
Sort of like jumping from the fry pan into the fire... But at least you will not get froze over.
Nice friendly calm place to sit and read.

Thanks for the welcome, I should have told you more about my present interests. I'm a geezer that spends most of my free time preparing to shoot and shooting bench matches with NRA BPCR type equipment, crosssticks on the table for the front and unsupported at the rear. There's around twenty of us geezers that gather at matches and see who's still able to withstand the beating and yes we call it fun, especially when it's the other guy's shoulder that's blue. There are three ranges in my area that hold matches monthly so plenty of shooting during the warm season which begins next weekend. I tried ASSRA matches but the one local faded away leaving one in Virginia that shoots three times a year, this I attend. I keep hoping to get a range to join in and shoot ASSRA style but no luck so far. Most of the guys like to shoot steel so it is what it is, shooting is shooting so I play when I can. Any questions I will be glad to answer.

Exactly and in my opinion the most laid back form of shooting to be found, great times at every match.
Forgot to mention, ASSRA stands for American Single Shot Rifle Association. When was first founded it was to rejuvenate the old schutzen form of shooting which shot standing only but through the years most shooters have aged out and now the main attraction is bench shooting, still a few stand shooters make the show.

I'm just passin through, cause I thought there might be pie or some ice cream leftover from the meeting earlier,,, don't pay me no mind.

There's some stale unglazed doughnuts still on the side table in the conferencefrom the Friday morning presentation, if the janitor didn't eat them by now. You ain't got me fooled, that nicely broken-in sitting chair over by the window with the ash tray and empty Dr. Pepper can has your name all over it.

WELCOME ABOARD from the Pipple's Respoobleek of Kalifornistan. I'm not quite certain why the real members here continue to put up with me, but they do and I really appreciate their indulgence and tolerance. I am NOT part of the deep and considerable brain trust that exists here, but I do steal their ideas and inspirations and use them to improve my own shooting efforts. That actually works, from time to time--which says volumes about the quality of the stolen information. Even I can't mess it up, try as I might.

Not sure the pictures location. I posted it up as a tribute to his recent passing, very little respect has been shown to the man that saved Nascar back in 1973 with the introduction of non-automotive corporations into racing, namely R J Reynolds.

The stands favor Darlington but the presence of grass says no but definitely not Hickory, I spent a lot of time there back when the picture was taken. I did get to see the Chevy show it's stuff at Hickory.

Lol, that Chevy was so fast he didn't have to push it in the corners, no stripe for him but the other guy's were leaning hard on the rails.
