I will remember that..I have two cousin scallop in out of New Bedford.

Every once in awhile they drop off sea scallops, about 8 # each..

I was thinking that this was all the help any of us needed. :D

I like scallops, too, but you never run into them much in Kansas.

Hmm. Not around here. Had lots of that for free when we lived in Key West, trail a special net
from a bridge between the Navy heliport and Fleming Key for an hour and get a big bucket of
shrimp any time you wanted, except slack tide. Tide ran through the passage between the two
islands at a great rate, used a net with a 3ft x 4 ft rectangle of 1/2" rebar, sort of sock shaped
net on it about 6-7 ft deep (long), with the rebar mouth rim supported on four "shroud lines"
back to a rope.

This worked great, picked up shrimp being carried by the tide. Just drop it in when the tide is
running strong, wait about 45 min to an hour and fresh shrimp. No scallops in the keys that I knew
of, but we got a lot of seafood for just catching it. That was a LONG time ago.

Not much self caught seafood in Kansas.:( The gulf shrimp is in the grocery
stores.

Pistolero:
Some good looking bullets you made. I use a RCBS Pro melt the batch I made a couple weeks ago was with a custom Brass RCBS style 270 grain SWC I only made a 3lb coffee can full.
I don't like to cast as much as I did when I was 40yrs younger so I make a batch that will last me a couple of years and lube them when I need them.
I am trying some Beer can gas checks about 4.5 thousands thick made with a Free Checks PB check maker I made.
I will be running them through a new Ruger Black Hawk 45 Colt at 900 to 100fps using Unique to start with.
Looking forward to letting the air out of a nice size Buck or Doe this Regular Rifle season.

Seems silly, but there is something sort of hypnotic when you have everything going
right, temp is perfect, mold is really working, more bullets just piling up and it's just
hard to stop while the pot is still full. :D

That's how I ended up with 1900 little baby .22s running around Tuesday evening. Started out to cast a few dozen and see if they were going to be any good. Checked several over really well, decided they were going to work, warmed the pot and mould some more, and kept going until the pressure got below optimal.

Women have bad hair days, and once in awhile I have bad casting days. When I do however I stop before I screw up a bunch of lead.
However when I do have a great casting day, it is as Pistolero says, it is sort of hypnotic, and I can turn out cast works of art (at least they seem like that to me.)

I also have a hard time quiting when things are working good. I like to turn up the music and get a rythym going

Hmmm. Not sure that Sousa would fit my casting rhythm much. Not that it isn't good
marching music, but marching doesn't seem to have much in common with my casting, at least.
