Made my first run of powder coated bullets in a while tonight. They turned out pretty decent I think. Getting ready to send a few and see what that old Buffalo Classic has in it. 457124 mold. 72B346C3-53A6-4E01-BD68-AC653743A668.jpeg72B346C3-53A6-4E01-BD68-AC653743A668.jpeg

I honestly don’t know yet. IMR 4198 was looking decent I believe. I haven’t nailed it down yet. That’s my next part of the equation. I am using new Starline brass and Winchester LR primers ive got the RN above and some 457193 a friend sent me that I plan on trying out. Any suggestions @waco

Walter,
It would appear that you are a fan of Walt Disney’s early work!

@waco what was your charge weight on the 3031? I can’t find anything for a 400 grain cast. Just looking for a place to start, thinking 45-47 grains comparing jacketed data with a 51grain start load. The 45-47 seems right too me.

Think I’m still going to start with the IMR4198 and see what it will do, but the 3031 may be my next option if that doenst pan out.

Thank you. I wasn’t too far off but that gives me a starting place. May load 5 up and just see what they will do.

My alloy I’m using and the PC they weigh in at 397gr. Which is extremely odd because the alloy usually is pretty well dead on on every other bullet I’ve made with it.
