Found a LEE Pro 4-20 Pot!

Hi,
I was looking for an old LEE 4-20 pot to work on or refurb, but...

No one seemed to have one, then a guy contacted me and had one like new for $70 shipped.

I went ahead and got it, as it seems people wear these Pots out and then throw them in the trash and get a new one.

May not be a bad way to go, but never found the old one I was looking for?

I'm also fixing to build a PID to use on the Pots and a Gun Finish Oven I have.

Congrats, good catch!
I have a thermometer in mine while bottom pouring, so I can adjust the temperature as needed. I often have to turn down the effect as the alloy level goes below half full. A proper PID would be better, bit I’m kind of used to adjust «on the go», and it plain works.

that's definitely a newer one.
mine is from the mid-90's and has the adjustable stem via a big screw head, it also has the wooden knob on the lifter.
i had to re-work the strips and some of the wiring a while back, but after the abuse i put it through when i first got it [i used it to melt down ww's and stuff for my shot maker] it owes me nuthin.

Well, this turned out to be a Scam.

Luckily Paypal gave me a refund, but lesson learned!

The Paypal address that was used, no doubt History by now, just be careful....

Of course that has been reported to Paypal and they are on it ,I guess.

They did not seem upset about it, and for a whole $70, I don't really see it being worth someones time to do this kind of thing but...

PID's are the way to go. They aren't that hard to make, lots of info online. I made one for my casting pot and my PCing oven; makes a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. Just Set it and Forget it .
