Great idea Ben.
I usually use a 3x5 card with info written on it. The card gets placed in the box with the ammo.

I use file folder labels and stick the label on the outside of the box.
These will be easier to print and use.

If you would like to go a little further in organizing your ammo and bullets, when your printing the labels, try assigning your calibers different colors. You can get neon copy paper or card stock in multi color packs, at Wal Mart or most office supply stores. I'm in the process of marking all my cast bullets and ammo labels in the same colors, by caliber, for easier identification. I like to use card stock because it isn't so flimsy and then tape over them with 2" clear tape. I find it handy to have an additional line on the label, for the alloy, lube and diameter sized to.
About ten years ago I used all orange labels on stuff and now find it rather confusing to find what I need. I went to mutiple color coding in my business shortly after and find it rather convenient. Several sizes of tags and adhesive stickers in round and rectangular shapes are available now also. Livens up the color scheme in the loading room.
