Gave my .308 a Facelift.

My very first attempt at Camo paint on a rife stock was several years ago on this McMillan A-3 for my .308

It served it’s purpose but I was never really that happy with my work. After learning about using natural sponge to do Camo paint I did a desert look on my 6.5cm.
Just for fun I thought I’d go for an Urban Camo look on the .308
The beauty is if I get board or decide I don’t like it I can always just repaint it.
I was pretty happy with the result.

Fancy!

Just don't tell your buddies at work you were "sponge painting" this weekend.

Looks good Waco.

Try;Just for an experiment,on scrap...... let whatever paint/color "rest" a few minutes after application. Then take a small paint brush (1/2" wide or so) and dip it in whatever you're using for reducer, acetone or lacquer thinner. Now just touch it to the tender paint.Another way to manipulate the tender paint is again touch some reducer on it but, take an air needle(used to inflate footballs) and blow the reduced paint around.

Even if you're using enamel, lacquer thinner trick will work.Fine tune the operation before hitting a stock.

Slow here too Ben.

But thanks to Waco for posting cause the 30 y.o. HS stock on my 308 is the original paint....whats left of it. So,his post gave me the inspiration to paint it.

See if this loads, after searching web pics, this is the one I want. May take a cpl weeks but will post a pic.... mainly as a comparison to the web,mug shot.Screenshot_20180821-220834.png
