I placed a Weaver K6 on my Remington 722 in 222 today. It looks like it or so. I also cleaned up my new Savage 24 today. I really got for my granddaughter, it’s a 22 over .410.

The gate to the range lane is closed but you can see my 97 yard range. I shot right over my squash and pepper plants. There is shot of my tomatoes to along with my homemade outdoor sink. That sink is some handy, it it 2 cow feed containers.

I love those old Remingtons. Yours is a beauty and the K6 is a perfect choice, thanks for showing it. I could get into collecting those rifles , maybe someday I will.
I have a 722/.222 in 99.5% condition, I put an older Redfield 2x7 on it, it works fine but is of the wrong period. It is a Widefield with the range finding reticle.

I keep it around to blast vermin. I have so far not got it under 1 MOA using Hornady VMAX and RL& or 4198DSCN0063.JPG, I suspect a bedding job would help. It does blister coyotes though. Those thin skinned varmint bullets enter and blow up within inches, no exit wound. Mostly they drop dead within a few steps.

The Remington 721/722 are my favorite rifles. Many of those I find today have been rechambered or barrels shortened.

Killed a nice Wa blacktail many many years back with my
722 in 222( was legal then, don't know about now). Head
shot abt 125 yds. Shot the throat out, and opened it up to
223, and shot it like that for a few years, then latched on to
a new Saeco Heavy bbl, in 222, same stock, just opened it up
to accept a fat bbl. It is still most probably my most accurate
rifle, when fed the proper diet of ammo.

I've got a Savage 24, an early one with side selector, in .22 LR/.410. Mostly shot snowshoes with it. One I wish I could get back was a Savage 2400 (Valmet) in .222/12 ga. I had one back in the 1980's with a red dot sight. I just poked around the internet and saw one for sale at $1600! Too rich for me.

I was standing on a runway with the little .410/.22, my Bluetick had been bringing a rabbit around and overran it. He's a hundred yards away in the swamp barking around in circles. Out of the balsam brush comes a rabbit just a flying to run right over the end of my snowshoes. Out of instinct I swung the barrel down and took him across the neck with the front sight. Killed a rabbit without a shot fired.

I have a 24 in 22 mag over 410.

Great rabbit gun!

Think I gave a guy $60 for it about 15 years ago.

And no, I wasn't wearing a mask!

I put a K4 on my western auto 22( marlin 81), and it just fits right.

Nice rifles there! I picked up a Rem 700 in 222 back in the late 70’s and really enjoyed it. Sadly I got a wild hair and had it rebarreled to a heavy benchrest style 222. Very accurate, just not something you carry out West to shoot prairie dogs... much too heavy. I kept it a few years and had it rebarreled again to 223 AI. Nice rifle, but I think often about going back to the 222!
