Seeing on the noe website, a 270-151. Features a stepped diameter... thoughts??
A Creedmoor should take a .265 - .266 cast bullet.
If NOE list the bullet at .270 , it will most likely cast at .271 +.
That is a good bit of sizing.

Tell us about the rifle! I got one last fall, CZ 557 American, but haven’t shot it much yet. First load I tried was about 3/4 inch and I haven’t tried anything else. Well, it’s the only box of bullets I have so there’s that too…

Yeah a 270 NOE won't fit in a new 6.5/.264 . My 270-140 ended up .272 just right for a 6.5 Japanese .

No experience with the creedmoor, but quite a bit with 6,5x55 commercial actions.
The .268-.270’s are not suitable for modern, actual .264 rifles.

The NOE266-140 is designed for the Creedmoor. It is a sleek, long, high BC bullet. It has shot well in my x55 rifles. This would be the first bullet I’d try in a 6,5 creedmoor.

.266 seems to work well across several rifles with lubed bullets. With PC, .265 and .266 has given unseperable results.

It's a Ruger American predator... going to put on a fixed Leupold 6x36 from my stash. Will share some pics once it's assembled :)

No experience here with the Creedmoor either but I have used both the RCBS 140 and the SAECO 140 in 6.5mm BR. My avatar pic is the SAECO 140.

Following. My experience with cast in my 6.5CM (Savage 12FV) has been nothing short of dismal with the Lyman 266469 & 266673 (both sized to .266) which were the only 6.5 moulds I could find.

Much as I would like to try the NOE mould it has been out of stock for months.

Would you be interested in the 4 cavity SAECO that cast the above pictured 140gr bullet?

Tell me more... powdercoat, what velocity, powder choices, etc... would be interested in hearing your experience.

Thanks!

I'll post a new topic with my journey, pics, chrono data, targets, etc.

Perused some recent issues of The Fouling Shot earlier today and found 2 separate individuals shooting 6.5CM. One is using a Schauf 140gr mould and the other is using the NOE 140gr. Both are running around 1600fps, one with H110 and the other with 2400. I've been using A5744, so might try some 2400 of which I have plenty.

Rick if Andy doesn't take you up on that mould let me know, guess I'm too new to send a PM.

Health hasn't been up to what I would like and I haven't been out to find that mold yet. I have it but it's been stored for several years and will no doubt take some looking. I looked up this SAECO 4 cavity mold on Midway, by special order only they are $231.00.

@MW65 ; I have that NOE mould (268-134). It is designed for spacious military chambers. I don’t think it is suited for the 6,5CM.
If there are no suitable moulds available from NOE, another option would be the Arsenal moulds 266-92 «Spitzer». This little bullet shoots well from my 6,5x55 rifles, and should be more likely to work with a tight commercial chamber/throat.

Thanks!!! Was thinking something similar... perfect for the Swedish mauser, but maybe too much for a creedmoor.

The 6.5 CM often comes with a 1-8" twist rate. FAR BE IT FROM ME TO START AN RPM WAR--but my experiences with the 1-8" twist in 25/35 WCF showed that accuracy went to Sheol at much past 1600 FPS with lubed bullets sized to fit well. My Ruger 77R has a 1-9" twist, and both #266469 and #266673 behaved themselves to 1800 FPS, any faster and they started getting flier-ish. #266469 shot substantially better from 1400-1800 FPS, 2400 as fuel.
