Bret,
I’ve heard of folks using unleaded fuel in the newerColeman lanterns, but have heard that using it in older lanterns is detrimental. Some claim the additives don’t play well with the hardware in the older lanterns. I’ve used it while night fishing in my Coleman lanterns, but still a little Leary about the lead pot. Seems unleaded fuels are more volatile than the Coleman/ white gas. When I get it cleaned up I may try a 50/50 mix and then try pure unleaded.
The wife is definitely a keeper. She’s put up with me for almost 43 years (June 5th). Surprises me with some of her garage sale finds, but I have to fix a lot of the junk she drags home. She is good at getting what she wants.

I wonder if premium unleaded pump gas would be better than regular due to higher octane/lower volatility?

That’s what I’m intending to use Ian. I don’t like using regular unleaded in any small engine. I’m not sure they have to have pumps marked for ethanol up here anymore until it is e85. Where I buy fuel is owned by a shyster, so all bets are off in that regard.

Just got all my buckets of lead all in ingots and a buddy of mine brings me a bucket 3/4 full a couple days ago. Was given to him by a buddy that runs a garage auto business. Can't complain about the price though. Overall run was about 30% steel and Zinc.

That is a good ratio. I only get about 30% lead in my ww that I get from a friend that works at a Les Schaub tire center. But like you the price is right. I just have to go and pick up.

I guess I’ve been lucky, so far, that has been the highest percentage of steel and zinc for me. That find out in Sd. Had me spoiled.
