Today is my grandson's 1st day to cast.
He likes to shoot 38 Specials.
So , to keep things simple, we decided to use a single cavity , IDEAL, 358477.
I think he did just fine for his 1st day ( Age 12 ) .

Ben,
Was wondering when we would see some more Trevor videos?
First time casting and he looks like he is a chip off the Old Block!
Oh Yeah! He has a master teaching him;)

Awesome Trevor and Grandpa! I love casting with my son and showing him something I hope he does the rest of his life.

Once finished casting, Trevor went to the loading bench and we adjusted the Lyman 45 and put in a .357" H & I sizer. He then proceeded to lube and size his bullets that he cast today. It was a good day ! ! !

He will shoot these in a Colt 38 Spec. Detective Special .

Very practical and a great way to learn the basics.

I'm sure he feels some pride in a job well done. Thanks for sharing, grandpa!

I have a handful of the first bullets I ever cast, they are sealed in a baby food jar with the lid so tight I can't unscrew it.
2 more years and I'm gonna break the jar and load then shoot them... on their 50th anniversary.

anyway.
he is learning how to cast exactly the same way I did.
a little pot, a ladle, and a single cavity Lyman mold.
