Guilty pleasure?

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I liked "Enterprise" a lot. Part of that was being a fan of "Quantum Leap" and liking Scott Bakula, yet I despise "NCIS New Orleans". Got me, I dunno why. Anyway I liked Enterprise way more than STNG or ST Voyager or Deep Space 9, although 9 had some decent comic relief. I'm pretty sure my wife and I took a class with an actor from Voyager, can't recall her name. No matter what, I surely like the newer ST movies with Chris Pine a heck of a of more than the earlier Shatner ST movies. I trade off all the Shatner flicks for "Them!", "The Blob", "The Rocketeer" (more adventure than sci-fi) or "The Andromeda Strain". And I'd dump most of those for a good western or WW2 flick.

"Young Frankenstein" is in a class all by itself. Another one that gets me every time is "The In Laws" with Peter Falk and Alan Arkan. Everytime the scene with Falk yelling at Arkin, " Serpentine, Shelly! Serpentine!!!" while he's dodging bullets gets me laughing so hard I pee a little.

Back to the OP's topic of "guilty pleasure"

Mine is Radio (AM Talk Radio specifically).
I have a collection of radio's, that rivals the collections of bullet molds that most of us have. While I don't have many real old radio's, I do have a few. Since I am located in Rural Minnesota, mostly the radio's I search for (and collect) are radios that will pull in the AM signals from the Metropolitan stations that are 50+miles from me. I am not necessarily the nerd type to be building my own radio or building a super antenna or anything. I mostly desire to listen and want something portable to go with me. But I've also found an interest in alarm clock radio's and desk top radio's...and HD radio, which never really took off, but radio stations are still broadcasting the HD signals. So, for what I have found, for my use, it seems Sony's circuitry is second to none. GE radio's from the 70s and 80s are great also. I may have gone too far into this, but if you are still reading this, and are slightly interested, the biggest tip/trick I have for you, to help any AM radio get better reception, is the Terk Indoor AM Antenna "Advantage".
https://www.terk.com/radio-antennas/?sku=ADVANTAGE
It's worth the price.
Also, My favorite, a pocket sized AM/FM radio, that's currently manufactured, that has incredible reception for only about $20, is the Sony ICFP26 portable AM/FM Radio. It is better than just about anything else in any category.

Never got into the sci-fi stuff..... never was into computers, electronics,or science?

But will admit to going into the bowels of Baltimore "proper" digging up antique furniture. In places downtown that even the police won't go. Learn the difference between prey and predator, don't travel alone, and be gauldang careful making eye contact. If you "try" to do anything but being yourself, you're a prime target..... it stands out like a neon sign. I'm far from being some bada$$.... just a good looking old white guy that's on a mission, haha. Seriously, can go almost anywhere there. Hard to describe, but if you're the least bit uncomfortable.... you probably shouldn't be there.

If I had to go to Chicago..... would ask the locals where the best pizza is,downtown.

Less interested in pizza than I am in finding a good old fashioned Jewish deli and having a pastrami sammich

I was always more interested when Troy was on.
Starwars started OK. But got boring after about #2. But the last one that came out was more like the earlier ones and held my attention.

Ian, we went to a nice place this evening for dinner. Wife wanted deep dish pizza so that is what we had.
OMG was it amazing. Crust was still thin but lots of cheese and the sauce and toppings were perfect. Never had garlic on a pizza but it was perfect. Definitely one of the finest pizzas I have ever had.

I went on a find a Chicago pizza thing a couple of years back.
I think Chicago is closer than any pizza joint that makes one near me.

Best Pastrami Rueban I ever had was in South,....South Myrtle beach. We were down there touring this old estate,I'll think of the name about lunchtime today....

So we're both getting panged with hunger middle of the day but, don't want to make an affair out of it,at a "sit down" restuarant. We end up at a pod mall in this very non descript joint. Positively nothing to speak of place.

Get my "P" rueban and its 1 1/2#'s of MEAT on some killer bread and ho-made sauerkraut. We're both literally slackjaw, with thousand island dribbling down our grinning faces. I turned to the 60 sumthin y.o. owner and said holy ____ dude, that's a heck of a samwich. He didn't get 3 words out before the Brooklyn accent would bowl you over.

He had just gotten off the "boat" from owning a deli in NYC,where he'd grown up.

I'd get a Chicago pizza in me visiting that city,fo sho.

Jon, I'm on the search for an affordable, late model Zenith Transoceanic. I dunno why, I just want one. I used to take a great interest in the multiband/SW radios in the old Sears and Radio Shack catalogs we seemed to get every month growing up. I'm also a talk radio radio junkie, but there is only one AM station in range with talk. It's a good one with a real farm show on Saturday mornings. I don't get a chance to hear it often, but I really enjoy it. Drives the kids crazy if I tune the car radio to AM, they just don't get it.

Dadgummit, ITS, now I'm HUNGRY. The Stone House in Montrose, Co. has the best Reuben I've had to date, yep, owned by a transplanted Manhattan Yankee. His Dog with 'kraut and spicy mustard was pretty good, too. You just can't get that sort of thing in Tx. Schlotsky's girl asked when I ordered a Reuben "what kind of bread do you want?" Me: I ordered a REUBEN, this is a SANDWICH SHOP, it's kinda self-explanatory?

Brad also needs to try some of those Chicago hot dogs while he's there. Some very imaginative creations at many of the places.

Bret,
Somewhere in my stash I have a 1960s/1970s pushbutton AM/FM/TV, 6 band SW and weather radio that is styled like a Zenith Transoceanic. But it needs some serious repair, it kinda works, but the push button system is a poor design and with age, the buttons don't always engage/switch.

Serious weather/blizzard winds/snow/thunderstorm warning here today...it's a hunker down and watch movies kind of day. I'm glad I brought in a bunch of dry wood, as I removed the tarp cover from my carport style firewood shelter last week.

Granted we have been nowhere close to the south side of Chicago we are pleasantly surprised at how well mannered the people have been.

We also saw 3 trekkies dressed up. They were walking around with a radio playing “Why can’t we be friends”. I need to see if they are there tomorrow and get a photo.
We had to laugh.
