Once again Ben, you did good!

Thanks,
I have two 50 round boxes loaded for the rifle.
Every 5 rounds are slightly different ( OAL, primer, powder, bullet, bullet dia., etc . ) I'll fire 5 round groups trying to find a load that it likes.
I'm hoping to find a " nail driving load " for the rifle.

Some of you wanted to see a target shot with the Ruger Model 77 with the stainless barrel. This target was shot today. It is 3 shots at 50 yards.
Lee , 130 RN 7mm cast bullet , GC, sized .2863 and a nose of .277
The charge was 10.5 grs. of Alliant Unique with a Win. Large Pistol primer. I shot several groups similar to this today with the rifle.

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Looks like it's up to your standards Ben. Well done.

Ben, I'm curious as to why you loaded the rounds with large Pistol Primers instead of large Rifle Primers?

With low powered cast bullet rifle rounds ( less than 25,000 psi ), you'll sometimes find that a pistol primer will shoot tighter groups.

Ben,
I have a .243 Win in a 1980's tang safety Ruger 77V ( heavy barrel) It is my one prize rifle !
Now it is religated to shooting cast but it is still a tack driver!

you can sometimes find better accuracy and sometimes you need to burn a titch more powder to get the same accuracy as a large rifle primer.

ignition is an odd duck, it can make or break a load many more times than the powder load itself, and it can do pretty much nothing but change the pressure in others.
