Wow . . . Tell the worst cook in the county he's welcome to come to Thanksgiving dinner as long as he brings the food? Now what could go wrong with that?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Marie and I are keeping it simple today, still a bit stoved up from some cold or bug. Brunch will be scrambled eggs, sausage, and some kinda bread, dinner will be ham, mashed potatoes, a couple vegetables, and pumpkin pie for dessert.

No mince meat pie? She put the bird in the oven early, sweet potatoes, ham, salad & peach pie. Sister Sara rolls & real butter. Enough food for 10. 10am the GKs finally up, plate full of sour cream cinnamin twist rolls (her specialty). Got notice the CVA has shipped, yea, right. Probably just a UPS ticket started. Suggested I teach the GKs how to clean an AR. SIL says I could clean his pistols too. Lazy?

You'll have to settle for pumpkin pie, here.

Yeah pumpkin pie here as well. We are going to the SIL's house as our kids are in the lower 48, so the big gathering anymore is there. But, pumpkin pie in quantity is essential. Leftover pie. Pie for the midnight snack, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Did I mention I like pumpkin pie?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. You're a great bunch.

I like it enough that I typically bake a pumpkin pie for Halloween and another one for today and another still for Christmas. MiL baked a pecan pie. I like mincemeat pie but would have to eat the whole thing myself, along with the pumpkin, and that's too much.

Pumpkin pie is my second favorite. Lemon meringue is first.

No sweet potatoes/yams on menu, today. Rick won't eat them. We eat them frequently............baked, candied or French fried.
