Hay Heading to Nebraska!

I just now saw on our Local evening new that The Pennsylvania Farmers are sending a number of Flat bed trucks loaded with hay to help out the farmers in Nebraska. I 'm sure they need way more than that, but I hope it helps out!

It all helps Jim. Many trucks have arrived over the past few weeks.
Some cattle are stranded on islands in rivers. They are getting airdrops.

Was a newscast online a couple of days ago, convoys of hay from Texas heading to Nebraska.

Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas farmers/ranchers are all helping out, it's just the way it works.

I been seeing on the rural TV channel that they have a pretty good network going back and forth for ranchers and farmers to help each other.

Very cool that they are helping out. Not a lot for those cows to eat out there
now, even without the flood and standing on acres of sand.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
It seems every year these convoys are going someplace. Nebraska and flooded areas this year, drought stricken areas of Texas a couple years back, California another year. You Tube has an Allis Chalmers film on a similar project back in the late 40's/early 50's out in the plains after several major blizzards stranded cattle and people out in the sticks with nothing to eat. No helicopters back then. They used military cargo plans and kicked bales out the doors or used big crawler tractors (AC if course!) to sled hay in to cattle. Not much changes I guess.

Back in my early Air Force days, after a weird Sunday Phoenix snow, I volunteered to kick hay bales out of the back of a C-119 (Flying Boxcar), to feed livestock on the Hopi Reservation.
