Here I sit with a glass of rye

Pondering the world and have to ask why?

Well good old Kentucky clear doesn’t seem fitting and top self bourbon would be a waste, so I thought that rye would work best for the world being in this mess.

Now for the asking, can I call the nipple cream that we all have use, oil of ram?

And can I tell me friends that stop by that those cute little mesh baskets come from Acme reloading supply and not bed bath and beyond? You know the one that are just perfect for PC.

Guys give me some other things to consider!

It is one of those days that started out with a light rain and remains overcast. After lunch, I kicked back in the recliner and closed my eyes. Just floating off when I got a text message. Sent from a friend to two of us. Video about a guy being asked to make a selection if he were quarantined, would he rather A. spend the time with his wife and child. Immediately responded "B, definately B, yes, B" So I started to drift off again, and the other two started clicking back and forth, each time waking me up. Then another text from a message sent yesterday. So I woke up enough to reply to that one. Again drifting and more from the two friends on an unrelated matter. Then my cell phone alarm clock that is set to wake me up from my noon nap to get ready for work. Today is the first of my three days off. I got up and the @#*! phone has been silent since.

Where is that &?*# camera that everyone seems to watch so they can mess with my naps. Now that I am up, might as well have a taste of the Irish Whiskey left over from St Patrick's Day. Cheers!

Floating off in the easy chair is about the time one of my cats gets the poop zooms and does the wild eyed charge across every free space in the house, including the space above my face. My chest is a convenient landing/launch pad, too.

Cracked the seal on a bottle of Glenmorangie Signet (21 year old, single malt Scotch) this afternoon.
Since we're locked in, the shooting range is closed and it's drizzling, I may as well enjoy something!

My dog Jack likes nothing better than to jump in and the middle of my chest when I take a nap in my chair. So Ian I do feel your pain

Oh, and Rye, yes, very underrated and I've been gradually exploring this myself. At the rate I drink it will take me a few years to go through the fifth of Jack Daniel's Rye and try another brand.

My wife got me started on rye with this gift, the barrels spent a season on Sig's crab boat (we used to watch The Deadliest Catch.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
A friend of mine told me that Rye was the best thing for a sore throat. I'll be damned, but he was right!

both typingly, and in the cabinet.
I don't think I could describe rye if asked, unless it tastes something like what faygo makes.

It all comes down to whiskey ....with a discriminating palate ( even for us denture wearers) it is all in the nuances of taste !
That is why Scotch pulls no punches ...you taste smokey peat and iodide! What is not to love ?.....it is the highlands and the sea!

I'm not a huge fan of the Speyside scotches, too fruity and sweet for me. Has to be the tar-smoked malt with a hint of cold, salty, north sea and an earthy, damp finish. I didn't connect that flavir with iodine before but that's definitely a big part if it.

No dogs on the furniture here either though it's pretty obvious when I go outside she heads straight for the couch, hears the door she jumps down thinking she got away with it. If I'm going to be gone for awhile I put newspapers on the couch and ruin her whole day.

As this thread started it reminded me of an old sophomoric rhyme that started thus "Here I set all broken hearted".
