I've spent some time this summer introducing a friend 25 yrs my senior to reloading ammo. I gave him a glimpse of casting and he really likes shooting my 3030 mf loads. After a long learning curve he has been able to enjoy shooting a rifle he'd put aside due to premade prices-the 300wb.

He has begun gathering up supplies for reloading. He had a big smile with the jacketed accuracy we extracted. Last Friday I tipped him on his ear. I brought over a lee 10 lbs bottom dripper a lee 452-200rf 6 banger with set screws and, gave him a crash course on mold prep & casting. He made 1250 boolits over the weekend. The condition of my mold & dripper are currently unknown. No matter their condition I will consider it worth it.

Hide your lead fellas he's addicted & looking for more.

Lol, he's not a member.....yet.

We need a foot or two of sand on our berms. It would really speed up the stealing of all Brad's range lead. Right now picking single bullets out of mud is slow and tedious process, we're leaving way to much behind for poor Brad to clean up.

I believe I'm one of the few that raid the berms at the range I shoot at. There are plenty of brass hounds there though and that burns my bottom. Don't these people realize that brass was left there for me.(?) :) Good for you to teach another about casting, I used to think 'Why in the world would anyone want to cast bullets' but after doing it for awhile now, I'm hooked and would rather shoot cast than jacketed.

Greetings
Years back there were several cast makers at the club I am a member at. But those fellers have gotten older and stopped so I think I am the last unless someone started while I have been down here this time. Makes me smile to think of all the lead just laying there waiting to be screened and smelted.

I could have fixed this guy up right well just before I moved.

Hi all, first post here.
for a few years I would go to a range near me that has a steel backstop past 50yds For pistol shooting.
the scrap would stack up like someone shoveled it out of a truck.
I would always set my target at 50yds and bring a heavy canvas bag. During ceasefire I would fill up that bag and come back with 40 or 50# at a time.
After a few years of that I finally had to stop because I can’t see myself ever using all this lead.

HA!
I remember thinking look at that 5 gallon bucket full of ww's i'll never ever have to buy lead again.

damn near cried when someone stole those 10 buckets of ww's out of the back of my old IH pickup a few years ago,, even though I have about 3500 lbs. of ingots sitting under the bench, and at least a half dozen buckets of more stuff out back to melt down.
