ok !! I am on the edge of my seat ...waiting for more.. did I see just a whiff of the coriolis effect on those bullets?. Or was that the wind?.. I bought a#of 4831 about a year ago for use in the M1 but haven't got around to trying it yet..

pretty sure the trail was a vapor trail.
because I have never seen the smoke trail thing and I have pushed that lube a lot faster than that.

yeah a titch at the muzzle is common with it.
I never got to worried about it, there isn't a sloppy wet star and I never find any on a target.

Outstanding shooting and video. You and your brother do the image of shooters proud, welcoming and no cursing and some fine marksmanship. I've been real sick and have watched hundreds of shooting videos and that ranks right up there. I checked out your page as well.

Outstanding shooting, hitting that plate at 500 yards is amazing with cast bullets. I know I would be mesmerized by a series on the topic. You have helped me decide to pursue long range with my 303 Brit. I want to try and hit a few tens on a service rifle target to 300 metres and some steel to 500. Now cast bullets are possible, thanks.

I'm not even sure I can get out into the woods right now with fire danger the way it is but I have a new load to test at that 500 yard steel.
My last load, from the video, was the 30cxb bullet at 2250fps. That kinda worked. I was using IMR4831

I have a new load that shoots pretty good at 100 yards using RX15 at 2460fps. I really think the extra 200fps will help me to be a bit more consistent with hits at that distance. I'll film and post results whenever I'm able to get back out.

I also have a test batch loaded with 46.0-47.8gr of H414 to try out.

Waco,I'm letting some 130 g 7mm,dang near linotype bullets age a touch longer and am going with 38g of Varget.Looking for 2500fps in 7-08,24" brrl.... which I "think" is a 9 1/2 twist?(not that I give a hoot).So,am interested in your testing,good luck.

May send a few down range tomorrow a.m.

Excellent shooting. And as others have stated, your video has giving me a renewed interest in trying the XCB bullet. I've had the mold for better than a year, but life gets in the way, too often.
Thanks for taking the time to make a video and sharing it with others.

Cliff.

there is more related data for the 308 and actual XCB case in another thread I started.
I put out loads for 5-6 other powders you guy's may find useful.

Great video, great shooting and results. Music just a tad loud. Hope my SIL will get his range set up soon so I can try the longer stuff. Sent him a link of your vid to get him interested. Only time I did 200 was on a hoot from buddy that wanted to try it. What is the scan rate on that camera? Must be pretty high.

We got a lot of complaints about the music in that video. We redid it. I think there is a link in the description of the previous video. If not you can find it on our YouTube channel.

AWESOME GUYS!!!! I am so pleased that you youngsters came on board and are showing some spunk, speaking for my self I have a tendancy to take the path well traveled these days, but after watching the vid, I might just have to vist my friends with the Cranberry bogs and get back to shooting 500-600 yds, but with "modern" bolt guns instead of the single shot BP ones, again thanks for the inspiration, Dan P.S. Great shooting especially for a light 165 grain bullet.

Just ran across this one very nice Walter. I really like the fact you could watch the bullet and vapor trail. Awesome video.
