Jeff Quinn made a video of some tests he did using 12-gauge birdshot on denim-covered pork roast at reasonable "room" distances. Worth watching.

When I had a Bond arms 45/410 derringer I found that 460 S&W brass fit it just fine and I started loading three 45 cal round balls in them to make it a bit more effective. At ten steps they would stay in about 5" group. I dont know if the 460 cases will fit your gun but they might.

I loaded 4 00B that I squashed to 454 in 45 Colts cases . At a little over 600 fps at 25 ft (I think it's been several yrs) it printed 3 in a perfect 4"triangle and the 4th went about 4 " high and right . The discs all hit flat and every time separated into the same group/pattern. I referred to 250 gr data for ACP for the charges and loaded them for a RBH in Colts cases like a 250 gr WC .

I keep a 1911 by the bed with a good flashlight. Inside the house, I will not miss with that gun, way too many
rounds in practice and competition, and not too happy about the retention issues with long guns in close quarters
in the dark.

Also keep a Rem Model 10 (Browning Auto 5 clone) loaded with #1 buck for "in the yard" work, set to pattern at 12" (16
pellets of .30 cal) at 20 yds. There is an AR with Blitzking 55gr loads and a red dot sight conveniently located, too.

More available, .22 rifles, etc. as may be necessary for a particular situation from a rabid coon to a coyote to a two legged
predator.
