Nero is a handful.
My daughter has Rottweiler's and when she comes over and brings the dogs, Nero has a great time chasing the dogs around the house.
He's the first cat I've ever seen that isn't afraid of dogs, any dog, no matter how big!

He's the first Maine Coon we've ever had.
He's so big, it's like living with a bobcat.

Our ragdoll cat is very old now, only weighs about 11 lbs, used to weigh 13.
Here he is a few years ago at our cabin in Colorado.

My SIL had a big tomcat years ago. The first time he walked into the room I said,
"Wow, now that is a huge, tough looking cat. He looks like a bulldog in a cat suit."

Never have seen a Maine coon cat, really must be huge. Good looking cat, too.

Congratulations to all the guys with wonderful wives. I am blessed with a really smart lady
who overlooks many of my flaws and puts up with my many oddball hobbies, and partakes
in many of them, too. I am very lucky that she chose me.

Everybody thinks he is a long haired Siamese, but he is actually a Ragdoll breed.

I have had a long line of mutt cats .
Sachamo was all deep chocolate . When he got me he could curl up in my palm . 17# of adult Tom cat with a mane ...... He had this real long thick hair just like a lion . The oldest boy , about 2 , pulled him in the tube with him ........from that moment forward there was no peace in the shower or bath because he wanted to be in it with you . When it was time to get up he'd come in and lean on the bed purring it made me sick to my stomach every time . He loved car rides too . In fact I can't think of a cat like thing that cat ever did .......maybe landing on his feet .

These days there's Kitty .
She takes being a cat very very seriously .
I'm not one for superstition especially .
Kitty has about 7 white hairs on her . There are no spots , stripes or lines of any sort to be seen in any light , she is black all over completely . She came to me in a tree probably chased there by coyotes outside an upstairs hallway window about 3am on November 1st , 2008 , under a very full super moon , probably a blue moon in hindsight . She wouldn't leave so I stuck the dogs crate over the steam grate outside with an ice storm pending ......on the 16th I gave up , brought her in , called the vet and she's been sleeping on my feet or in my arm curve 3-5 nights a week since . I don't have one good picture of her . They are all either blurred or blanked by her eyes reflection . I think I've had maybe 5 nightmares and 2 mice since she came along . I guess I'll keep her another decade if she wants to stay .

Can't say as much for wives ......... Got a pretty good woman these days she can stay as long as she wants too . She hunts a little , camps out , keeps the larder full and feeds me too well . Puts up with my nonsense , dog and cat . Keeps the books mostly in the black and gives me all sorts of grief about being broken after the first 2 got done with me ........ Whatever romantic mush is over rated and I told her once , I'll let her know if anything changes . I might even buy her a ring if she hangs around a couple more years .

There are no more pure Black Cats. They were considered evil for so long, especially after the witch trail of Salem, they were nearly completely killed off.
If you find a black one, you can always find a few white hairs on them, like yours.

Wow! What a trout. Great catch.

I have caught some cutthroat in the Wind River Range in Wyoming, but these are in tiny lakes,
extremely high altitude, nothing that big in them, AFAIK. Biggest mountain stream cutthroat I
ever caught was 14".

I ate a Trout that was caught in the Wind River, LOL ;)

It was 1980-something, one of my Bike trips out west through WY. I drove down the Wind River canyon...man that is a beautiful drive. I setup my tent in a small campground along the river at the bottom of the canyon. There was a family in the next camping spot, they were fishin that river hard and managed to only catch one fish. Nice family, they offered the fish to me, as I was camping alone...cooked it on a stick over a sagebrush wood fire. Maybe the best tasting fish I ever had.

Lol, the black part just adds to being adopted by her under a full moon on All Hallows ......

It makes a fun story .
I can't take any of it too seriously having been born in June of 1966 I'd probably be in a psychiatric hospital by now .

I didn't think too much about Black cats in the Americas having been imported after the plague and all in Europe .
Sachamo had stripes in the sun .
We had another when I was growing up , Mickie I think , she had spots in the sun . Had a lot of cats along most of them didn't hold up real well 3-4 yr as indoor outdoor cats we always blamed the the coyotes but probably hawks and owls got more of them .
Hard to believe Kittie is almost 10 .

that is a big Rainbow.
about 6-7 lbs is all they seem to get here, maybe they get bigger [shrug?] but I never hear of anything bigger ever being caught, plenty of food just not enough water or growing season, the catfish get about the same 7ish lbs., and a 4 lb small mouth is easily over 10 years old.
we get some good sized Carp in a couple of the lakes though.

" plenty of food just not enough water or growing season" It is temperature as trout only grow above 42 degrees F and stop at 58 degrees. The same issue here in Eastern WA, two months spring and fall growth and nothing the other eight months. While 200 miles north across the border in Canada, they grow 10 months of the year. No hot summer water temperatures. FWIW, Ric

perfect fillet size there Walter.
I generally slot size fish, anything over 21-22, and under 17-18 goes back.
the Kids thought I was nuts the first time they seen me throw back a 4lb trout.

That there is a Native Redside rainbow. Not legal to keep. Has the adipose fin.
