WOW !!!!!!!!!!

Erik Ohlen is really GOOD !
He is a fantastic machinist.
I sent him my NOE , 2 cav. , 311008 about 10 days ago.
Look what arrived in today's mail.
I simply HAD TO get outside and cast with the mould this morning.
Erik's " insert bar " hp conversion will rain HP bullets.

Tell me what you think ? ?
Ben

This is what the mould looked like when I sent it to Erik in OR :

It won't get much better than this :

Prior to the HP work, this bullet shot extremely well out of my Ruger # 1, Stainless 30-30 Win. I expect it to shoot as well or hopefully even better now.

I have a T/C bull barrel , 32 H&R mag.
This should be a fine bullet for that cartridge also.

As far as that goes, it will size to .310 or .311 and shoot out of about anything that is a .30 cal.

Ben that looks awesome.
I have a couple I have purchased from Eric and I like them. I have a couple of Lyman's single cavity 400 to 500 grain RN Moulds in 457 dia I'm thinking about sending his way.

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Now Ben, how could you improve on the target you posted? Good looking bullet.

While the conversion by Eric is far more expensive than an RG4 mould from NOE the casting experience will justify the cost.
I am not a fan of the RG style of moulds but the insert bar is very good.
If I absolutely, positively, HAD to have a multiple cavity HP mould I would either buy one from MP moulds or get one done by Eric.

I have used both and dont see a huge difference really. I haven't used the style Eric makes ya. With the pins on a block. Would think being ridged it might be more finiky. But I say I havent used one to know.

Yea I see OOS. BUT Al is quite a Gracious and accommodating fellow, and a request goes a long way with him. ;). For sure wouldnt be his usual delivery time but I all but guaranty it wouldn't bee too Long you would have and be enjoying the mold. ;)

My issue with MP is time. Im not a patient man. But If I go in knowing its X time I can work with that. I have removed myself for all group buys from him because of WAIT times. NOT JUST speaking of fill Times as that hasnt much to do with the company. Waite once orders are in can be 6-8 MONTHS! Could be best anywhere if ya cant get your hands on it to enjoy and utalize what good is it really??
Just my two cents

Ben--

117 grain as-cast weight with the cavernous HP.......what were the as-cast weights prior to the HP conversion? Those were some hefty "008s".

Beautiful work for sure Ben. What does Erik charge to do a conversion like that? I've got a RCBS 32-98 I'd consider getting done.
