HS6

Anyone use it in 357/38spec? Not looking for mag loadings but a ball powder that meters better than bullseye, herco, or dot powders.

Little slow and dirty for the SPL but works fine; good for nearly full throttle in the .357. Meters well, is pretty dense as pistol powders go. It's about one tick slower than Herco in straight wall cases. I would recommend True Blue as an all-purpose pistol/revolver powder, it's right there with HS-6 but even better on the low end (dirty but very accurate) and meters just about like water....meaning it will find all the leaks in your powder measure.

True blue is one powder that you don't see around here. I've never seen it. One other powder I was wondering about is TCM. A couple of places have it for $18/lb as no one uses or wants it. I might just buy it to have it on hand. Accurate shows data for it in the 357.

WW231/HP38 has always metered well, and works well as a general mid-range powder for 38/357. HS6 works in the 38--if you want 38/44 loads.

I just loaded up some Accurate 36-158-V in .38 cases with 6.2gr of HS-6 for a muzzle velocity of around 1070fps out of my 16" Rossi lever gun.
Still need to test for accuracy but seems to work well enough for a general purpose plinker.
