Beautiful rifle, BL, congratulations!

The buttstock grain is great but it looks like the recoil pad and spacer shrunk in the dryer.

I sent the barrel today to be rechambered to 357 Maximum. After this alteration I doubt they will refit my recoil pad. If not, I will fit a new one later. Can’t wait to shoot the max, I have 4 molds that are suitable so a lot of shooting is coming up. I’m being released from Dr. in 2 weeks and I can’t wait to get back to casting and shooting.

As you can tel, I decided not to do the rechambering myself.

Might want to do a search on replacing the trigger return spring. There’s a few guys who have figured out how to really improve the factory trigger.

As far as loading for the 357 my best advice would be to use rem 7 1/2 primers. I have over 1K rounds through my encore 357 max and the Remington 7 1/2’s always outshoot other primers. My rifle tends to prefer AA1680 also.

Some of my best groups also come from seating the bullets long with hardly any neck tension and allowing the bullet to seat itself when closing the rifle.

I emailed Henry today and they will not fit a new pad but they are sending me a new stock. Maybe I can swap the pads for a better fit. If not, I will grind a new one.
