I finally did it!

I got an infraction on the other board for using the word d$%^. Yep printed just like that. I don't mind the infraction, for I guess I did break one of their somewhat sketchy rules, but I do mind being scolded like a child. I think that was the final staw of a series of final straws. So, for better or worse, you guys have me again. I also re-upped my CBA membership. I am Chargar over there. I got a 5 year membership there, so that will prolly see me on out. Life is good, and I wish you all a great 2019.

I got one the other day for offering to assemble a PID for strictly my costs and NO PROFIT. Seems I crossed over some ad rules. However I'll still frequent the site if for just the fact it generates more traffic. CBA really doesn't cover my casting types which are basically just feeding my handguns which isn't rocket science. Used to like the CB-L but it generates very little traffic the last few years. Like this site but most of it is above my needs also. Will stick to just these two.

I got my first one over there couple of months ago for almost the same word. That's aslo my problem with the CBA only cast for handguns, after 30 years it's not rocket science. :)

I really hate to piss in the punchbowl so to speak, but one of our founding concepts was that as much as we have grudges and gripes about other places, we keep them reasonably quiet. I think I speak for a lot of us here that we could rage-post for many pages regarding the slings and arrows of our various misfortunes elsewhere, but it doesn't favor a relaxed atmosphere or normal blood pressure.

From our own rulebook:

2. We recognize this is not the only forum related to bullet casting. Members of other forums are encouraged to participate here, as well. We ask that all users refrain from disparaging remarks regarding these other forums.

I will say one short thing and let it go.
things sure have changed over there.

if y'all wanna talk about simple we got a place for that.
go deep into silliness? [let me know first] but we got a spot for that too.

the great thing about here is it's openness, open to show and say what your doing without being told you can't or didn't do it.
I share a LOT more of what i do,, well do, here than I ever did anywhere else because someone/s/ will read it and ask questions and possibly learn or share something they also know rather than start in with 16 posts on why what I just did and showed isn't possible, or make excuses as to why just this one instance is/was an anomaly.
never mind the time before or the time before that.
that support and encouragement really lets me think about how to go about doing it better or what to move on to and try again with another rifle and caliber.

I gotta figure out how to turn off my contribution to the other site.....since I never or nearly never
go there, I can't see continuing to fund it.

Ask Rick how he dealt with that little issue. I found a paypal setting that shut down the annual auto-draft on my end, but Rick and others have had more difficulty getting it to stop.

that's a pay-pal problem you have to go straight to them to get it resolved.

Thanks, fiver. I went to paypal and made it inactive. It SAID it would cancel future payment.

We'll find out next year, already paid this year.

Bill

PS, just got an email from PP saying it was cancelled.

I never gave them a single penny and I still feel like I got screwed.

I do not intend to ever ask for money to support this site.

Well Charles, it is kind of like th inscription on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty around here, and we're glad to see you posting again anyway.

If Brad ever needs help with paying for extra bandwidth or storage for our photos he won't have to ask.

The cost to operate a BB with volunteer staff/tech is about a dollar a day, plus a little for extra storage and bandwidth for high-traffic use. That should tell you something if you are asked to donate to any BB site, particularly if the drive goal is in the many thousands in addition to ad revenue, VS fees, and membership upgrades.

more like a rule pamphlet.
just send 49.95 and a SASE to
po box 354...
wait,,, y'all do know what a SASE is?
if not I will explain it to you.
what you do is get a big wooden crate and fill it with red-dot/green-dot and the like along with any extra primers and any spare lead or molds sitting on/near the bench.
then you tape a self addressed stamped envelope on the outside and mail the whole shebang to
PO box 354
oh you will have to wait 6-8 months for the return pamphlet.
the 49.95 is the shipping and handling and unpacking fee necessary to keep the return employee interested in hand writing the pamphlets and returning them in the envelopes.
