Did some searching about and this type of vise has been made by several outfits under various names in the last 100 years.
I went in to the "local" HF a couple weeks ago - with a LIST.
Well, we all know how that goes. The vise was the first thing I looked for, found it - $21.
Left it there so I didn't have to lug it around as I proceeded with the remainder of my scavenger hunt, got help three times finding stuff, found other stuff not on the list, filled my basket and...
FORGOT to go back and get my vise before I checked out!
I could have used it for my last little project.

I have some more experience with the vice. I suggest nobody forget were the vice came from and who retailed it.
