I got something today that I used to drool over in the 70’s

When I was a young police officer who just made the pistol team I drooled over the Bill Davis PPC revolvers but they were more than a months pay then.

Today I walked in a local pawn shop and found this and left with it. I’m thrilled!!!!

Just realized the only wadcutter mold I have is single cavity. Looks like a Lee 6 banger is in my future.

I remember reading about those guns back then but I was a 1911 shooter. Nice to see a dream come true...Enjoy !!

They were great guns for the PPC courses. Shot quite a bit of it while in Law Enforcement, but never had one of the custom jobs.

I inherited two ppc revolvers, one a model 19 and one a model 25. Not nearly as nice as that one, though.

Nice find! I have one very similar in stainless and looks like a different barrel, yours looks more rounded and mine is a slab barrel.
mine is built on a 67 frame and they bobbed the hammer to make it double action only, even though it will cock if you can grab the hammer.
They built it in the Anaeim store when it was around back in the late 80's. They also did several Commemoratives for my Agency, still have a model 68 in the walnut box that our Association did with a belt buckle.

Enjoy it,

Very nice! I have a slabsided version built on a 4 screw mod 14. I got it back in the late 80's and I was fortunate enough to know Bill Davis back then. I was going to college in Sacramento back then and he had relocated his shop next door to an indoor range in East Sac that I shot at every week. I used to go over and chat with him all the time and even had him do some warranty work on a 625 I had issues with. He was a true gentleman who was always happy to talk.
