I started a "build" few months back...

I want to build a 50 state legal rifle. Mostly have to worry about the North East and its liberal hot zones. But I have property in Upstate NY and hunt Penn, NY, CT, VT and Maine. I dont primarily hunt with a AR. But have learned that the rifle is awesome in a tree stand. Shorter lighter and quicker. Plenty accurate with capasite should it be needed on Coyotes or Hogs. (Not up in NE but I think You understand)

I bought this 223/556 Ares Defense SCR maybe five years or so back when I started 3Gun shooting. (Not bullseye) Many matches where in Massachusetts. I didnt want that head ache. So a acceptable rifle was my answer. Its been great. Its got many if the "ar" features yet Familiar feel of my Beloved 760's and 870's.
Anyhow advance to last spring. I saw a used SCR with custom upper for pretty cheap price. I had been contemplating a second for this "Deer rifle". I picked it up and decided to make IT my 3Gun Rifle and convert my first one into a Deer Gun.

While I was deciding upon a caliber, I knew I wanted wood furniture. I bought a nicely Figured Remington 1100 Trap stock.

I fit a Pachmayer Rifle pad to the stock.

Then put in on the rifle. Here is the "new" SCR (Green Cerokote) along side the "Deer Rifle".

I was deciding between 6.5Grendel and 350 Legend. 350 Legend won out. I ordered a 20" Faxon Gunner barrel. I had previously ordered a Venom Defense slick sided billet upper and a Diamond forend. I wanted wood and will very likely change to a wood fore stock but down the road.
I made a video explaining the rifle and build to this point.

Last week I received the Barrel and the Adj Gas block. I assembled the upper and got to shoot it Saturday.

At this point its barrel break in then ladders.

Hope ya enjoy the read!

I like it. The Remington rear end should bring ergonomics handily. I have two questions; what in the world is capasite? And is it really legal to hunt deer with a semiautomatic in all 50 states? I always read that the 760 Remington was so popular in Pennsylvania because semiautomatic rifles weren't allowed for hunting. But I dont keep up with other states gun laws at all. I haven't hunted big game outside of Texas in decades. Ok, one more question- what is the weight of that rig?
Thanks!
