A bunch of range found 308 Winchester brass! But this is how it looks....but what is the reason? ( again)

Fired in a chamber meant for full auto. With far less surface contact more of the heat goes out with the spent brass and not into the chamber.

The brass in the photo was fired in a flutted chamber.
All CETME,/G3/PTR rifles use a fluted chamber.

yeah useable.
warm up a little before re-sizing.
I like to cam over the press and hesitate for a 2 count to let the brass flow a little, then cut the case mouths square.
it will take a couple of firings to get all the marks out.

HK91, IME, the marks never entirely go away, just mostly, but they reload just fine.
Will also have a big dent in the middle of the case and some rim
damage. G3/HK91 is not kind to the brass. PTR is a US made copy,
CETMEs also have this, actually the predecessor of the G3/HK91 made in Spain.

Ugly but perfectly functional, although sometimes the rim needs a touch of
a file to clean up a burr so it will go into the shell holder.
