Ian, you're 5.3 Universal load with 230TC

Curious as to velocity and extreme spread you're getting in the revolver. I'm only getting 765 with 90 extreme spread with 5.4 gr. Bump it up to 5.6 and get 842 with much better es. I realize your SAA clone needs a bit lighter loads, just wondering what kind of extreme spread you're getting.
I may back off to the 452-200rf bullet with 6.1 gr Universal for general plinking and practice since it works in the 1911 as well.

No idea. I worked the load up to cycle my DI AR-15 reliably, proved it out in the 1911s, and it is what it is in the revolver. It's not a hot load, what you're getting sounds about right. The AR will shoot inside its TRS-25 Red Dot at 100 yards which is good enough for me. I'm using whatchagot brass, CCI 200, and the NEW, Canadian-made purple Universal.

This is the Canadian stuff too. For the lighter loads in the acp case I may drop back to HP-38 or Red Dot, might get cleaner burning and more uniform velocities.
