I didn't have real load data for this bullet, used the Lyman data for similar weights, but that 2400 load was below start point with them. No real idea of velocity, and I don't own a chrongraph. It sure seems to work, I'm guessing somewhere around 1400 FPS, does that sound like a good estimate?
Would some of you smarter than me guys look at the photo I attached in the OP. The bullet holes had that "lube star" around them, for want of a better word. The subsequent groups I shot did this too. As stated, these were dip lubed in this LLA up to about where the ogive starts and stood on their bases to dry. I was kind of concerned they might be too thinly lubed, but I'm guessing if they were leaving that star on the way through the paper, the lube must be making it to the muzzle. I haven't cleaned the rifle thoroughly since shooting any of these, just a couple of dry patches, but I am sure there is no leading, if there is, it didn't cause any degradation in accuracy for about 60 rounds.
The weather turned south here today and I had a tooth extracted yesterday, but I have 40 pounds of Lyman #2 made up that I am itching to turn into more of these, hopefully conditions will allow for that soon.
