Information on used pistols

Well My quest to get the pistol in my hands is almost completed.
The story is very odd.
I was present when my friend at the pawn shop (#1) talked to the other pawn shop (#2) to send his FFL and information on 12-15-21.
I got back in town on 1-4-22. Only to find that owner of Pawn shop #1 had closed his shop because of medical reasons. The shop was completely closed for 3 WEEKS. On 1-10-22 I contacted the PS(2) that sold the pistol trying to determine if the gun had been returned because of inability to deliver. I found out that yes the pistol had been delivered and signed for.
Everytime we went to town we checked on PS #1 and there was never any indication of anyone being there. A sign was always in the window saying it was closed for medical reasons. Finally 2-23-22 the PS#1 was open but the owner wasn't there. The very uncaring clerk made a quick look and told me he didn't have my pistol. And wouldn't bother the owner to find anything out.
I spent 2 days on the computer checking past messages from GB and PS#2. On last Friday I found out that the gun had been shipped USPS. I called the local PO and talked to the head honcho. It took him half and hour checking his comp tracking information. Yes it had been there, Yes it had been picked up and signed for, and NO it did not go to PS#1. The package was ADDRESSED to a different gun store than had sent PS#2 the FFL.
So tomorrow I WILL be picking up my pistol

Quite the horror story, Kevin. Now that the bad part is over, the gun ought to exceed you expectations.

wow, that is a crazy run-a-round.
That would make a good side-plot for a vigilante Movie where the protagonist is trying to procure their first gun.
BTW, I just saw "The Brave One" (2007 starring Jodie Foster), an excellent movie, can't believe Jodie Foster would do the leading role in a Death Wish type movie.

Wow! I've had a few "experiences" in my time, but that one tops any of them.

Glad it's (almost) over.

"Tomorrow," in your last post, is TODAY now. Here's hoping for a happy ending.

Worst one I had was a H&R Handi in 30/30, which was shipped just before major storms and serious flooding of UPS facilities in the area of its origin. Tracking went dead, but several days later, my transfer guy (half-hour away) called and said he had it. I started the 4473 while he retrieved it and he was fixing to call it in (background check) when I pulled it out of the box....

"WHOAAAA!" "HANG UP THE PHONE!"

It was a Handi. It shipped from the same part of the Country. It just wasn't MY Handi. I went home empty-handed and was called back a few days later. The box mine came in got wrapped around some equipment along the way and busted the rear sight. I counted my blessings and took it home and didn't bother with a claim. Wasn't pressing my luck further at that point.

We deal with "accumulations (or stacking) of tolerances" regularly in our adventures, but it seems we also sometimes deal with accumulations (or stacking) of comedic errors while transferring arms as well. OK, I''m being optimistic that we'll all chuckle about it sometime down the road, once there's finally a happy ending.
