I always wanted to rechamber a S&W DA to 45 Win Mag and have the cylinder cut for moon clips.

45 Super is as much as I want to go in the modern S&W. Even that is a bit harsh for my comfort.

Hold on to your hat cause a roller coaster ride is far more relaxing onceyou get your feet wet around here. But the rewards are really good.
If I was going to think about a 45 Win Mag (yep we have one) I would be using a Dan Wesson frame and a 5 shot custom cylinder.
Far easier to buy a BFR in 454 personal carrier busting Casull.

As far as switch cylinder revolvers go , why waste money on the extra cylinder? We all know you are going to leave the ACP cylinder in place!

45 Win mag - I've got a 7.5" old model 45 Colt that someone rechambered the ACP cylinder to 45 Win mag. Never used it.

Are you sure it's WM and not 45 S&W . 1.10 case length same rim thickness as Colts .

RB - that is what I was told by the seller and looking in the chambers, I can see the throat is much deeper than for ACP. Don't have a case to check it with and never cared enough to measure it.

You can trim some of that short Hornady 45 Colts back to 1.1 and try it .
