Is there an action? ; 35 Rem

Since the age of 11 I have been in love with the .35 Remington cartridge. Now that I'm shooting cast in my 60's era 336 Marlin I have got a new urge! Since the head is slightly smaller then the standard 06/308 calibers & offsprings is there bolt actin receiver that would work with this caliber to make a custom bolt action rifle ( yeah like I have the money to do that:oops:) Just wondering?

If I can find a good deal on a old .308 barreled receiver I may jump ship and have JES rechamber & rebore for a 358 Win...but for me a .35 rem would be the berries.
Just like to hear your opinions
Just seems the .35's shoot cast so well!

A nice spanish mauser is a popular conversion for the 35 Remington, but if you are looking at a modern reciever it would be hard to look past a Model 7 or a Savage 10 series.

FWIW, most early 20th century bolt actions with leaf extractors and controlled feed, with work will function with the 35 Remington with a little work. I was able to make the 1903 Springfield feed and extract the 7.62 X 39 in about an hour of hand polishing. Lacking that, you will have to open up a .223 size bolt face, and extractor.

JES rebored a rusted out NRA Sporter barrel for me into his 3-land 35 Whelen. It shoots very well and I think highly of his work.

My mind is thinking JES but I don't know what I need to give him?
I was also thinking of giving him my JPSauer 8 mm mauser to make into something but not sure of my options

Josh . Why the Spanish mauser? I 'm uneducated in this field!

Most Spanish mausers are cheap, before samco global went belly up a full rifle was $169. A barreled action would be cheaper. Most of these were 7x57's converted to 308 and make great actions for lower pressure rounds like the 35 Remington, 300 Savage, 250 Savage and the like.

A lot of Carcanos had a bbl set back for 6.5 x 35 Rem .
I had 1 done for a 6.8 Remington, just a touch small .

If you find a 110 there are bolt heads available from a couple of makers .
A short action for a 7.62 x39 would be easy also.

That JPSauer seems like a strong candidate. Good post about Mauser 98/35 Remington conversion over on the High Road forum

The Winchester M70 was chambered in the .35 Rem back in the day. Also the Remington M600 and M7 were chambered thusly IIRC.

Last I checked the Remington custom shop still chambered Model 7's for it, but that was before George Soros bought it, maybe ten years ago.

if you want a 35 cal something and have that mauser action then the 9X57 is right up your alley.
it's basically the 9mm version of the mauser cartridges and the rifle is built to feed from and keep them in the magazine.
it also gives you everything from the 35 Remington into the 358 Winchester right on up into the 35 whelen performance windows.
it also let's you have the option of shooting stuff like 125gr bullets/boolits right on into the 250gr arena.
the rcbs 200gr mold would be easy enough to make an all-rounder from bunnies through deer and should poke holes in paper reliably out to 300yds without any drama.
