"Free range beef"...... me and the dog just both standing there this a.m. wondering WTF as three black/white face bovines make their way across the neighbors front yard. They've messed up some of our shrubs with their wandering.

So Bret, why not let your cattle just roam around the neighborhood? Certainly cheaper than maintaining fencing.

out here they do just that in some places.
we still have open range, so if you don't want them in you have to fence them out.
and god forbid if you hit one of those wandering cows with your truck, your paying for it and it's next 3 generations.

Looks like Abe Lincoln's split rail fences there in the long shot. Beautiful country there, sir.

Sitting in the shade of a cabbage palm, looking at the lake through the live oaks in Fla. About 70F. Down for Turkey Day.
We had one 2" snow before we headed south.
Will be settling in for real winter when we get home. Starting off cold, hay be a hard one.

Looks like it will be a cold Thanksgiving here in Florida, but I think we will make it :)

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
We have Yaks running loose, we had so many Longhorns running loose it made the news. None of them are mine and I'd like to keep it that way!

That zig-zag rail fence is unbelievably expensive, an not all that effective. Looks nice though.

That many cats is a sign it's time to pack up and move for me...

I call myself a "cat farmer" ! Every year when we get a nice new crop of the summer, Folks come around and pick their pet!
Last year I placed 15 kittens with families ( bumper crop!) This year not so much Lost a bunch of litters to kritters I guess.
Didn't have fox around all year so maybe the big racoons did in the kittens. Usually by November I would have seen & shot any fox.
Maybe they will come around later when the landscape gets bleak during the winter
My wife and I did take one kitten in for ourself this Fall... Our two older cats don't particular care for a new "kitten" so full of evergy!
& I'm not sure if we relized that a kitten is ideal for old folks! We can't wait until he gets his "temperment" snipped off!;)
