it's weekend time again.

Shade 5 welding goggles are almost dark enough for the aftermath of a dilated eye exam. Lots of vitamin A helps too, but have to pretty much take it every day for years to keep up.

I finally figured out how this happened.

in 1954 Perry mason was investigating some goings on in Japan.
th

after some intense questioning of the natives on some outer islands, he started putting the pieces together.
.
th

what he found come as complete surprise [except to those that had seen the original movie that is]
th

just as he was wrapping up his report.

he got caught up in the action.
th

fortunately he escaped with his life.
th

and the rest they say is history... or HIStory as the case may be.

OK, now you're really creeping me out. In the other thread Ric mentioned Peter Gunn and how every high school band in the '60s had played it a million times. I composed but didn't submit a post talking about how in the early '90s every high school band was still playing Peter Gunn, at least short blurbs for touchdowns and stuff, and how I'd told the band director we ought to play the theme from Perry Mason as a comeback song because we were all so sick of hearing Peter Gunn from opposing bands at the foozeball games. He made scoring a 15-second blurb of the theme a grade project for the jazz band, which we did, but we never could get the marching band to play it with the necessary kind of "Godzilla-taking-over-the-local-landfill" grungy, nasty, slow-motion, Bourbon-street swing feel to pull it off. So that's another way to work "Perry Mason" and "Godzilla" into the same post. I swear you're tapping into the ether or some $%#&. Sheesh.

Pretty obvious . . . Fiver has far too much time on his hands and not nearly enough honey do's.

Now to get his wife to read this. :headscratch:

Did some band time in the 80s never played any of the Peter Gun stuff missed out on the Godzilla resurgence too ....... Although our bass line whailed with Let's groove I'm glad disco is gone . Ugh . You'd have thought we would have played something fun for Jazz band but noooooo . Kind of a waste of a sax to play a pop standard everyone has heard 40,000 times .......

My kids loved the old Godzilla movies . I think maybe vs King Kong is why the eat broccoli .
If knew they had a passion for the old ones when 3rd Jurassic Park came out (I think that's the one ) and shortly after the boat crash we all laughed like so many mad men at T Rex chasing the Asians down the street .......because the improbable monster always eats Japan .

Think it was my first attempt at "retirement"?.....

I rode a sportbike for a solid year, everyday, interspersed with trackdays, both as a student and "paid for" corner worker.

Soooo, last weekend, wifeypoo needed to blow off some steam. A moment of clarity, possibly?Maybe a ride in the mnts on some stoopid fast M/C?

Imagine going into corners faster than you ever thought was possible? That's EXACTLY where she was, hanging on for dear life.... 3rd gear, time it just right, about the second she is begging to get off this POS,hit the gas.

She learned that, there are certain things beyond your control....

Sorry Rick, that video and song is a bit dated. This is better.

when I heard the Godzilla theme song waay back in the original movie and how it kept going into the 60's and 70's and clear until the later movies [except that piece of junk when he got brought to New York, pkay show on it's own but why did it have to be Godzilla?... I mean really.]
it's still a pretty neat piece of music.
it doesn't need any bling or embellishment it's just right as is.

Fiver considers it dressy because the arms haven't been cut off.

As a rule I don't shovel snow. Did it just once, for a week, no more thank you. Heat and humidity are tough, but they don't require shoveling out of the way just so you can go do stuff like walk out the door without going arse-over-teakettle.
