Still on the CBF, but I found your website and forum this week. I look forward to meeting back up with the CBF Alumni and also meeting new friends who shoot cast bullets.

Welcome aboard Bruce.
Feel free to let us k ow what you are working on.
I believe you were looking at some high velocity 223 work in an AR?

I saw you stick your head in the door about a week ago, Bruce, how's the neck doing? I miss your old avatar with the Jeff Hunt Club Formal Wear, you still have that one? Bret's having a good time, but sometimes I think his head's gonna explode because we don't do politics here

Thanks for the warm welcomes already. Yes, I still have the JB Hunt Club photo. Neck surgery was 95% successful but I still get occasional bouts with it affecting my arms.

Powder coated 311413s in an AR10 and PC Mihec .225" 68gr NATOs in an AR15 are the projected summer projects once i have my new club membership requirements completed this spring.

I will be interested to see what you can get the 413 to do in the AR10. That bullet has a somewhat checkered past. I have no experience with it but will watch with interest to see what you discover.

Howdy! I, too, will be interested to see how you do with 311413 PC. I assume that is with gas checks installed?

Todd. Yes, gas-checks and two coats of PC. one before check and one after. I'm hoping to get a bit more velocity from it than 1600fps and hoping the PC coat and the hard alloy (Bh 18) keeps it from slumping and hopefully get upto 22-2300fps with reasonable 200-300 yard accuracy for use in NRA Highpower rifle matches. We'll see how it goes.

Looks like a whole bunch of OUCH!
The 50-70 recoil with 43gr of Pyrodex (volume equivalent to 70gr of blackpowder) pushing that 450gr bullet is a lot less than I expected. Thankfully, I've never been on the receiving end of it!

Just a big push. Having fired many thousands of 500 gr plus minis from rifled muskets it really isn't bad.
What hurts is seeing the pot drain fast as you cast them.
