Just wondering?

If he is not, he will apply.

OK, I did apply and since a "reply" button is now offered I guess I am in business.

First, I would like to apologize for the poor treatment some of you experienced while trying to join the Cast Bullet Association. A few years back we had what could only be called a breakdown in service to members as well as to potential new members. That has been fixed and Ms. Birmley, our new Membership Director, is dedicated to the CBA and our members. The membership problems have been few and far between since she took over. Of course as long as some of our applications are coming through cyber space some strange things may happen in the future. I guess I am too old to fully trust the magic.

Rick, you said you had a check clear. To partially redeem the CBA, I would like to send you a year's worth of pdf Fouling Shots. They probably won't be the six you should have gotten back then but I think you will find them interesting.

I would also like to offer sample Fouling Shots to anybody else who would like to take a look at what I believe is the best magazine devoted to cast bullets in both modern and antique rifles and pistols.

Anybody curious enough to take a look please send your email address to me at < jaalex2520@gmail.com > and I will send them right out.

Thank you for taking the time to register and explain all that, and also for your generous offer. I'm certainly interested, will be sending email.

I should say a couple of additional things about the CBA. It is completely run by volunteers. It is not a competitors only organization. Maybe 20% of our members are competitors. The rest represent all kinds of CB interests rifles, pistols, muzzleloaders, slug guns, hunters, plinkers, experimenters, and a few old grouches. Most of our articles are written by the 80% and are as diverse as the membership. We need all kinds to have a critical mass and we try to respect the other guy's game even if we don't understand the appeal.

Hard for me to imagine how any CB shooter can not want to read the Fouling Shot and I am completely unbiased.

Amen to what John wrote! Also, do you think you'd get two, count 'em, two, personal replies from Dave Scoville (editor of Bandleader magazine)? It is a wonderful organization even for noncompetitive CB'ers like me.

I have 7-8 years of Fouling Shots, and hope to have 8-10 more years of them in the future. They provide excellent information and loading references. Well worth a few hours once in awhile to go back and review.

I have been a member of the CBA for many, many years. Ed Harris is an active member and has written extensively for The Fouling Shot. Ed's technical background insures the information he gives you is first rate and thoroughly tested. As an example, his work with the "Full Charge Wadcutter" is a DANDY!

I can recommend membership to any. I happen to prefer E-magazines and you have that option to receive the E- Fouling Shot at a reduced membership cost.

I always read Ed Harris' articles, and then reread again a couple of days later. Being old and set in my ways, I want the printed Fouling Shot. If I got the E Mags, would end up printing off all the articles anyway.

I keep a file folder on my computer (baked up) of the articles I am interested in (as well as the e-magazines). I convert them to pdf., and categorize them. Sure has been helpful and it allows me to easily share good articles.

Just a thought or two...

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I've been a member on and off for years. My nose got bent a bit a few years back at that forum by one of the royalty and I kind of drifted away. I did spur the idea of them putting all of Uncle Frank Marshalls articles on a CD and if it's still available, I'd recommend everyone get it. Franks was one of my favorite writers, up there with Saint Elmer, Skeeter, Dean Grenell and Ken Waters. Well worth the cost if it was $100.00!

The Fouling Shot usually had a couple good articles written by members in every issue. For those interested, I sometimes see collections on Ebay.

I stayed on over the years because of the articles. Have picked up some valuable insights, hints, tips etc. Agree with you Bret on favorite writers starting with St.Elmer. Glad you are on this site. You are one on the other site that I agreed with the vast majority of the time. Don't agree 100% with anybody all of the time!

The CD of Frank Marshall articles is $15. Out of US $18.

I think I have sent copies of Fouling Shots to everyone who sent me an email address but it got a little confusing because some of them bounced the first time. If anyone asked for copies and didn't get them please let me know and I will try again. Hope you are enjoying the articles.
