I don't know how long Kimber has had revolvers in its product line. Anybody know much about them, their design, etc.?

Now I don't feel so bad about not knowing anything about them. They look nice on the website but I think I could get something just as functional for a lot less $$

Oh yeah, one of these days I'm going to get one of those GP100 .44s.

Looks like Kimber has a very limited selection on revolvers. A short barreled 357 mag in a variety of materials and finished but nothing else.

that GP 100 44 special does look like a good gun.

I know a guy that has a stainless one in about 85 more days of lay-away.
[not me] I already let him know I want measurements as soon as it's out of lockup.

With the right throat and barrel dimensions it would be even more desirable! The triggers can always be worked with, and I can't imagine what it would take to hurt the gun more than the user.

Not necessarily "news", but it appears Colt is rolling out remakes of their Python in 4.25" and 6" barrel lengths. Stainless steel, newer/simpler/more robust action (leaf-spring-driven) and thicker top strap, MSRP @ 1500 shekels. Of course, it cannot come into California--like the rest of Colt's lineup--and more than half of Ruger's handgun product line. North Korea with citrus groves.

Kimber 357 revolver has been out for a few years. Walked into the the local gun emporium, back then, was surprised to see one. They are heavy and expensive. Heavy is what discouraged me. LCR is a better choice, IMO.

Hickock45 did a review in the late 2016 time frame, a little while before Colt came out with their first new Cobra revolvers. The Colts started at $799 MSRP, but I saw one advertised last month (Bud's, I think) for $586. I do not recall seeing the Kimber revolvers come down on the market, though.

Colt has offered several re-makes of their double-actions. They now offer a 3-inch fixed-sighted King Cobra, and also a 4-inch Match variant King Cobra, with adjustable sights and an improved trigger, for $1K MSRP. A month ago these were listedby online retailers but not in stock. I imagine if I wait a little while the price on these would go down, too. It would be interesting to have a .357 companion for my .38 Special Officer's Model.

Or, I could just wait and get the accurizing tuneup for my mid-'90s vintage King Cobra at Cylinder and Slide. The problem is my travel schedule.

Does anybody else fix timing and 'smith Colt double-actions?

I heard about the Python.
it seems to draw a bit of interest from those that already have one.
I figure they gotta keep employees busy since they ain't making enough AR's, 1911's and SAA's.

Ruger is releasing a 20 round pistol in 5.7 [or the alternate 10rd for those not living in freeish America]probably in the 600$ range street price.
I'm semi interested in that, but about half the people I talk to are about as interested in if it can be converted to 7.62X25 as using it as is.

confused.pngI have one and not interested in it, the least bit. First heard about it this AM, on the other forum. The interest is for the ones that missed out on the first go around. IMO. The demand has always been there. Just look at what the older ones are going for. Colt is looking to cash in on that market. The Python was my first handgun purchase and it spoiled me from purchasing any S&W revolvers, other than their J-frames. They had that niche covered, until Ruger introduced the far superior LCR.

BTW, Dan Wesson's pistol pack was my second choice, way back then. No internet then, never seen one in any of the Detroit area emporiums. Buddy told me about a LGS that had the Python, rest is history.
